Oh! And KELLY!
So, watching the first part of the Idol finale tonight they showed a new iPod ad featuring Coldplay. Thank god they didn't use "Violet Hill." Instead they used the title track, "Viva la Vida."
I've been wanting to post this ever since I heard it, but I figured it would be a single at some point and I could post the video...
I gotta say, I much prefer this original version of the song over the one that's all over the radio that Timbaland stuck on his remix CD as a song by him FEATURING the band that actually wrote and performed it. That's pretty shady.
Oh, and it doesn't hurt the lead singer is cuuuuuute.
I loved when New Found Glory released "From the Screen to Your Stereo" all the way back in 2000. I've always been a big fan of cover songs, it's interesting to hear how someone can interpret a song so differently and have it still be recognizable. I heard today that NFG is releasing "From the Screen to Your Stereo: Part II" this Tuesday and I'm already in love with one of the covers on it. Instead of an EP like Part I was, this is a full album of 11 songs. My favorite so far is this one, a cover of Go West's "King of Wishful Thinking" from Pretty Woman featuring Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy.
Robert Randolph & The Family Band - Ain't Nothing Wrong With That
Great song, funky, cool and the lyrics are pretty awesome too. Randolph is a great guy and all the songs I've heard from him and his band have a good message to them. Fun stuff.
Oh, and yes. It's the song NBC uses in their Thursday night comedy commercials. That's where you know it from.
Ok, so when the video makes itself available on YouTube or iFilm I'll link the video too, but for now I had to post the song. Sexy-Funky-Jew-boy and his band still got it. I've seen the video, and it's like a sexy disco airport, very strange but cool. Hopefully it'll be up online soon so I can post it. Anyways, give a listen!
